MEDITATION LESSON IN FULONG BEACH

Chia Jung is a Buddhists monk who lives in a monastery in Fulong. I have met her during my staying in that beach in 2015. After the rainy season, in April the owner of Fulong Beach Resort produces an International Sand Festival.
Thousands of people always visit this event. It is definitely, one of the most visited beach in the area of the capital, Taipei. It takes one hours by train and lots of people move here, even daily,  to have relax and enjoy the beauty of this beach and green area.
During the first days of work, we had a special visit from a group of Monks.

They also use sand for their practice, when they make mandalas with colored sand. On top of the hill facing the sea and the beach where we work, there is a Buddhist temple with monastery. You can reach that prying place walking up to the top through a long stairs walk. On the way up, you will find some small temples to stop and pray.

We sculptors got invited to see the monastery, and we went there, the last day after work.Chia Jung offers us to follow them on a meditation lesson in their main room, she reached us to follow her repeating the mantra of peacefulness.
I was very touched by this welcome people, and their choice in life.
I have a special memory of that time spent in Fulong.
Descovery local culture and see how people make their live every day it is plus-value of the special job i do.

On top of that, the sand competition went very well and i got 3rd place!
